As the 3D printing technology is emerging  in the recent years. 3D printers and scanners become affordable for many users. The technology is implemented in different industries and one opportunities to solve many of the previous barriers of the traditional production process.

However, the 3D printing process requires good knowledge of the 3D modeling applications and the printing process itself. Therefore, many users are asking for courses and resources to learn 3D printing online. If you have the proper knowledge and a desktop 3D printer, you can start directly to turning your ideas into real products.

Many courses are available to learn 3D printing online. Although most of these course focus on the 3D modeling part, it covers the modeling process from the 3D printing perspective and the challenges that may be faced during printing the computer model.

This course is presented by Udemy and it focuses in teaching the 3D printing process for professional and commercial usage. Unlike the Lynda course, Learn Modeling for 3D Printing course depends on open-source modeling tools such as Blender 3D, Netfabb and Gimp.

3D Printing is another course hosted by Udemy and it consists of three main sections, creating the 3D model, 3D printing and selling the model. This course uses number of open-source modeling tools such as Blender 3D and 123 Autodesk. The course contains 60 videos and resources such as links and free softwares.

Introduction to 3D Printing is one of the 3D printing courses available in Skillshare and it covers the modeling and printing process independent from specific software usage. The course is around 1 hour long and includes 7 videos.
